Christopher Fowles's practice focuses on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on derivatives, structured credit and corporate finance. As a member of Torys’ Derivatives Group, he participates in the negotiation, structuring and documentation of equity, credit commodity interest and currency derivatives for managed assets, structured finance, lending and other transactions. He also advises financial institutions on structured credit matters, including synthetic collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), structured GICs, principal protected asset-backed commercial paper, notes and non-principal protected notes. Christopher also acts for real estate investment trusts and corporations on initial and subsequent public offerings. From 1998 to 2000, Christopher was seconded to international law firm Allen & Overy in London, U.K., where he participated in takeovers and asset and share transactions for major European and international clients. While in London, Christopher qualified as a solicitor of the Law Society of England and Wales.
