On September 26, 2011, Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (TSX: BAM.A) (Brookfield) announced that it will purchase a substantial stake in two Chilean toll roads from Spanish firm, ACS, for US$291 million. A consortium led by Brookfield will acquire ACS’s 46.3% stake in Vespicio Norte toll road and 50% stake in San Cristobal Tunnel. The deal is subject to regulatory approval.
ACS is a Spain-based holding company primarily engaged in the construction and services sectors.
