On December 1, 2011, Advent International and a consortium of co-investors, including the Future Fund Board of Guardians, completed the acquisition of 90% of Oberthur Technologies S.A. The transaction was valued at approximately €1.15 billion.
Oberthur Technologies specializes in digital security based on smart card technology and operates in the mobile and payment industries as well as government and corporate markets.
The Future Fund Board of Guardians, in conjunction with the Future Fund Management Agency, is responsible for investing the assets of the Future Fund, the Building Australia Fund, the Education Investment Fund and the Health and Hospitals Fund.
