Torys, with its significant life sciences group, is helping to drive the growth of the industry. (Lexpert)

Members of our Life Sciences Practice have extensive experience structuring, negotiating and drafting complex joint development, licensing, cross-licensing and other strategic alliances for the commercialization of intellectual property in area of life sciences. We work closely with clients in the design and implementation of in-licensing, out-licensing and cross-licensing strategies to most effectively exploit their intellectual property assets. Other transactions include those that monetize royalty streams. We represent Canadian, U.S. and other foreign clients in their deals with parties around the world.

We have also worked on numerous research and development agreements with academic medical institutions—including, MIT, Harvard, Columbia and Sloan Kettering—as well as agreements with clinical research organizations We have worked extensively on co-promotional agreements between pharmaceutical companies and specialty pharmas, and between pharmaceutical companies and biotech companies.
