Torys is pleased to announce our participation in the OCE/IP Osgoode Innovation Clinic. Launched in April, 2011 by Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and IP Osgoode, this commercialization clinic assists early-stage innovators and researchers in bringing their products to market. It is the first of its kind in Canada. Torys will be acting as clinic supervisors for this student legal clinic, providing legal advice on Intellectual Property (IP) matters on a pro bono basis.
On Tuesday November 15, Torys hosted the clinic's first seminar and provided detailed and practical advice on business and IP strategy. Speakers included Eileen McMahon, co-chair of Torys' Intellectual Property Practice, and Trish Barrow from OCE. Edward Fan and Jason Gilman were introduced as supervisors to the clinic.
