Canada's Attorney General and Justice Minister Rob Nicholson has named the following as the Ad Hoc Committee of Parliamentarians reviewing the Afghan detainee documents:
- former Supreme Court of Canada justice Frank Iacobucci
- former Supreme Court of Canada justice Claire L'Heureux-Dubé
- former chief justice of the British Columbia Supreme Court Donald Brenner
These jurists will scrutinize any documents that MPs want to make public to ensure that their release does not risk national security. They will also double-check records that the government asserts should be exempted as cabinet confidences or legal advice.
