Torys is proud to announce that the Hon. Frank Iacobucci has been awarded the Justice Medal by the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice (CIAJ). The CIAJ's highest accolade, the Justice Medal, is awarded biannually to an individual who has demonstrated "distinctive leadership in the administration of justice in Canada, or who, by his or her writings or other endeavours, has made a significant contribution to the administration of justice in Canada."
Frank has served as the Deputy Minister of Justice, the Deputy Attorney General of Canada and as a member of the Supreme Court of Canada. He was appointed by the government of Canada to lead discussions toward the resolution of the Indian residential schools claims, and he was appointed Commissioner to lead an inquiry into the conduct of Canadian officials regarding treatment of certain individuals.
