Corporate

We are seeking 3rd to 6th year associates to join our dynamic and busy transaction-focused corporate group in Toronto. The ideal candidate has high quality experience at a major Canadian law firm (or comparable experience with a major U.S. law firm) within the corporate, commercial and securities law areas, preferably including cross border transactions. Motivation to perform at a high level, the ability to work as a part of a team and a desire to diversify beyond a narrow specialty are a must.

Debt Finance

Torys' Debt Finance Group is seeking a mid-level associate to join its busy practice in the Toronto office. The preferred candidate will have 2 to 4 years of experience in debt financing transactions at a leading firm and will be prepared to "hit the ground running." Excellent academic credentials, the ability to work as a "team player," a good business sense and a strong desire to succeed are a must.

Torys’ debt finance lawyers are active in domestic, cross-border and international debt-based financings, and work closely with their debt finance colleagues in Torys' New York office. Representing borrowers and lenders in the public and private markets, we act on conventional secured and unsecured financings, as well as project financings, structured financings, and derivatives. We are looking to add to our team of excellent lawyers.

Real Estate

We are seeking a 3rd or 4th year associate to join a dynamic and very busy transaction- focused practice in Toronto. The ideal candidate has 3 or 4 years of experience at a major Canadian law firm, with a focus on a variety of commercial real estate–related transactions. Particular experience in complex acquisitions, M&A, corporate securities and secured financing transactions, each with a commercial real estate focus, is ideal.

Strong academics, motivation to succeed, the ability to work as part of a team and a desire to diversify beyond a narrow specialty are essential. We act for some of Canada's most well-known and highly regarded institutional investors, real estate companies and investment trusts, and financial institutions, including the real estate practice groups of each of the major Canadian banks.
