Our approach couldn’t be simpler. We dedicate ourselves boundlessly to quality and service. That is what we are all about, so being recognized in this way is very gratifying.

This year, efforts to respond to client needs has taken us in exciting directions: our New York office continues to deepen its cross-border capacity, we are already into our third year of work in Calgary, and we are delighted to join the Montréal business community with our new office in the downtown core. A presence in Québec adds invaluable dimension to our work, and with leading litigator Sylvie Rodrigue at the helm, we couldn’t be more pleased to be in Montréal.

Mentoring fosters the teamwork and engagement that form the backbone of our capabilities. May is mentoring month at the firm, and the lineup of events–development sessions, informal socials, and awards–help set the stage for the year ahead to grow mentoring relationships both new and old. Once grown, these relationships span entire careers, and we are proud of our close ties with Torys alumni long after they have moved on to other opportunities. While building a strong internal community, our people also dedicate efforts to the diverse communities from which we come and reflect. If you haven’t been to our Diversity site–or if you haven’t been recently–I encourage you to meet some of our people and explore our recent initiatives and affinity groups. Our dedication to community extends to legal work: this year, 177 of our lawyers delivered $3.3 million worth of pro bono work on 165 different matters.
