I have had the privilege of being Torys' managing partner since 1999. I am very proud of our firm and the work that we do on behalf of our tremendous clients, with whom we have grown and flourished on both sides of the border. We are pleased to have a number of alumni as clients, many of whom have truly distinguished themselves in the worlds of business, government, the judiciary and academe.

Torys is a firm of trusted business law advisers who focus on results and people. While our clients drive us hard with matters that stretch our skills and challenge us, our goal is to provide the best possible service, which means that we strive to understand our clients, their businesses and the environment in which they operate. I am often told how well we work together to those ends and it is deeply rewarding to know that we do such great work. Our people chip in to help, don't have sharp elbows, and care about and celebrate the firm's success. Our dedication to providing only the highest-quality legal services is supported by our positive culture of respect, collaboration and diversity.

I am deeply committed to our pro bono program, which helps those who would not otherwise have legal representation. Recent successes have been in establishing Ontario’s first legal clinic for artists and in securing a property for Toronto’s Youth Without Shelter.
